What information is collected by LGS?
- “Contact Us” information submitted by website users or through email. LGS collects personally identifiable information when people contact us by email and when individual users of this website choose, at their discretion, to fill out and submit our website’s “Contact Us” form. Those who submit an inquiry or comment through the website are required to include their name and email address so a response can be provided.
- Information to make payments to vendors and others. Individuals, companies and organizations that choose to receive payments from LGS by electronic funds transfer (direct deposit) are required to provide the name and contact details of a representative.
- Website analytics. LGS uses Google Analytics for automated collection of anonymous statistics regarding how members of the public use and engage with this website. This includes number of user visits, number of pageviews, and number of unique visitors within a specific timeframe, average session duration, bounce rate (percentage of users who leave after viewing only one webpage), as well as information about the types of devices and browsers used by our website visitors. No personally identifiable information is collected through our website analytics. LGS uses these anonymous statistics to identify trends related to the use of our website which could be used as part of future website enhancements (for example, adding more information to our most frequently visited pages).
How long is information kept and used by LGS?
The anonymous statistics collected through website analytics, as well as the personal information collected for electronic funds transfers and through inquiries and comments submitted to us by email or through our website are retained by LGS in accordance with the retention schedules of the Saskatchewan Archives.
Do you ever share personally identifiable information outside of LGS?
LGS will only disclose personally identifiable information with the explicit consent of the individual from whom it was collected or when permitted or required to do so by law.
Can I access or amend my information?
Members of the public who choose to submit personally identifiable information to LGS have the right and responsibility to verify that personal information and amend it as necessary. To request a copy of your personal information, email LGS’s Privacy Officer at [email protected]. LGS should be notified of any inaccuracies or omissions in this information. The required changes will be made, and the individual concerned will be notified once the update is complete.
